Opening A boutique in Toronto

I am new to the retail business, and it seems that there are many people out there to help, but for a huge price. I know that most of you are in the US , but I was wondering whether you would know of any resources, or consultants that can help to steer me in the right directions.

At this point I've registered my business and acquired a business permit. Besides research into certain styles and brands I'd like to carry, I am not sure what my next step should be.

Hi There, Congratulations

Hi There,

Congratulations on registering your business, not sure how it is in Toronto but in the US you would register the business, get a federal tax ID and also get some sort of Retail tax identification(depending on the State).

Are you planning on opening a retail store? Or a home based business? At this point I guess 2things are important:

a)Finding a location

b)Finding wholesalers

Since you have registered your business you can probably attend trade shows and find suppliers( they do not let non business owners attend these shows).Check here to see if there any near you.

Definitely do this so that you can find suppliers to buy your inventory from.
