New York business Grants

Hi,

I am a women business owner(soon!) and wanted to know if there are any Grants you guys know of.

From what I know there isnt much with Government grants but what about city or state grants? Anything specific for NY?

Although there is assistance, and business incentives in NY state, there are no (or very few) grants available here is the link Women and Minority owned businesses for minority and women business assistance.  You will more likely to find financial help for your start-up business as  loans rather than free money.

There are grants, but they are very restrictive, such as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR).

I also heard about trickle up. I do not think they give alot of money but it might be worth a try. I think they are new york based
