Welcome back Goldden

Welcome, and thank you for trying our system. how can we help you?

Wondering about

Looking for info on retail space/ licenses/ loan/ etc.

Ok I am assuming that you just started looking,

So, have you done the basics, such as find out your expenses, project your revenues, research possible spaces for the cafe and also,   I need to complement you in the name, I like it.

Thanks

the name will change/maybe/ because there is a place called Brazilian Coffee, I think  on 30th and lex. However, I havent started looking already, so I was looking for that type of help/ Where to start.

Alright,

Well lets think about your project,

Where are you planning to set up? (Manhattan, Queens, etc)

What size, for the location, would be ideal for you? Have you looked at the prices?

Operational costs:

How many employees do you plan to start with?, what would be their hourly rate?  How much would you spent per month?

What about inventory? Start-up and ongoing

What is your COGS (cost of goods sold)? (As a pertcentage of sales)

Utilites, lawyer/accountant, and Misc

ok, here is what I got so far,

Q1, Manhattan, prob. the midtown, or gramercy area

Q2, between 500 to 2000, sq/feet. price between 6000-15000 ground floor

Operational

Q3 to start probably me, my biz partner and 2 employees to help us with the place.  Pay them $8 an hour.  We wont pay ourselves till we are profitable.

Q4 Not sure maybe 5000 to start

Q5 Not sure, can you clarify?

Q6 I don't have enough info on those, but we will spend 3000 to incorporate as LLC

Costs

Let me guesstimate some costs for you

Lets say rent is 9000

Lets say that you are paying for 5 employees at $9 hour on a 30 hour average workweek for 4 weeks (I am assuming that you are open from 10 am to 11 pm Monday to Friday, and 12 to 6pm saturday and sunday, so 77 hours) plus you and your business partner working full time so:

employees 5400

Owners Draw at least 3000 full time for each of you so 6K unless one of you guys prefer to keep your full time job

Supplies and Cogs  we can say about 30 to 40% depending on what you are planning to do

Advertising and promotion very little maybe 500 $

Telephone and Utilites $200

Professional Fees $250 a month

Budget some misc. at a $1000 a month

Hey thanks!

This definetely helps!

I will research more and get back to you!

That's good

Don't forget to research your fixed expenses as well

Research

I've done some research, some landlords ask for over 5 months in rent as a security, what else am i missing?

You might like to ad

You might like to ad Equipment and Utilities, Leasehold improvements, base inventory (for the start-up) Initial Advertising (like your website), Ongoing One-time advertising, Rent and security (your 5 months) Legal fees (the set up of your company)

I have done some research.

I have done some research.  The Equipment is going to cost me about 50K (is a small place), the intial Advertisement, website, as you suggested, is going to be 1500.  Rent and security deposit, is negociable, I hope I can get away with 3 months, or find a good deal.  Legal fees, maybe 2000 for an LLC done by a lawyer. What else?

Lets see: Fixtures and

Lets see:

Fixtures and Equipment $50,000 (probably more) Leasehold Improvements ? Utility, Lease Deposits, Realtor Fee$45000 (5 months) Base Inventory ? Licensing+Incorporation Fee $2000 (not including Licenses) Initial Advertising (grand opening, website, etc) $1500 (all?) Total: $98500 so far

 Fixtures and

Fixtures and Equipment $35000 Leasehold Improvements$ 15000 Utility, Lease Deposits, Realtor Fee$18000 (3 months) Base Inventory $5000 Licensing+Incorporation Fee $4500 Initial Advertising (grand opening, website, etc) $5000 Total:$82500

this is what I've done, I lower the rent to $6,000 (so 3 months of security is $18,000.  I guesstimated, the rest of the costs.

Also, how did you put in the table? I just copied it from your previous message

That sounds right for a

That sounds right for a small place, the table I added through admin rights, in thenext incarnation of the Bplan system we will ad more features for the users

Thanks

Thanks

Lets take a look at your variable costs again,

 Employees

5400 Owner's Draw 3000 Payroll Taxes 818 Cost of sales depends on sales  30-40% Supplies Lets say 2% of sales (paper products, napkins, etc) Insurance ? Rent 6000 Advertising 500 Telepohone &  Utilties 250 Professional Fees 250 Miscellaneuous 1000

Insurance
