Certificate of Authority

The process of getting a Sales Tax ID is called obtaining a “Certificate of Authority”. You have probably seen it in stores on the wall behind the cash register.

To obtain the Certificate of Authority you will need the form DTF-17 Application for Registration as a Sales Tax Vendor
